The three seashells, being fined credits for cursing and John Spartan; the year is 2032 and John Spartan was just released from his cryogenically enforced prison sentence to help fight the criminal mastermind Simon Phoenix in the great city of San Angeles. With powerful electrical batons, highly sophisticated Taco Bell restaurants and computer controlled cars, the police force of San Angeles need an old cowboy to help clean up the streets. This is the 1993 movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock.

So what does this have to do with anything? In 2010, while Taco Bell is anything but sophisticated cuisine and we'd still like to know how to use the three seashells, we are very close to computers taking full control of our vehicles. Google is currently researching and developing automated vehicles. This technology has enormous benefits in terms of actual human lives saved, time saved, fuel savings and traffic reduction.
