Google's Answer to Windows
Google has an innovative and yet simple answer to Microsoft's current operating system, Windows: Google Chrome OS. For those of you who've never heard of Google Chrome, it is a ultrafast web browser. Google Chrome Operating System is just that; its only a browser. There are no hard drives in the computer itself, internet is built into the notebook and the most shocking of all: The computer boots from click to login in 7 seconds.
Yes, 7 seconds. You can't even take a sip of hot coffee in 7 seconds, let along brew a pot of coffee (the amount of time it currently takes your Microsoft based operating system from boot to login). Going from hibernate/standby mode to login is even faster - the only slow down being how fast you can move your appendages.
So no hard drives? Won't that be a problem if I want to save my pictures or music I own? No. The computer will recognize the input device, then upload your content to you cloud. The scope of this should begin setting in now. No more software programs on your computer. No more photos. No more hard drives. No more viruses. No more malware. No more minute plus boot times. No more lost data from damaged computers. No more expensive tech support only to tell you the file is gone forever. The list goes on and on about the innovations.
But businesses stand to advance even more so than consumers. Imagine a medium size business with 100 computer stations: Cost of hardware (the actual computer) multiplied by 100, Cost of operating system multiplied by 100, cost of software programs multiplied by 100, cost of hard lined network infrastructure multiplied by 100, cost of information technology department fixing computers multiplied by 100, cost of anti-virus programs multiplied by 100 and cost of hidden costs multiplied by 100. This is business working in the 21st century with 20th century technology; this is duplication.
Google Chrome OS changes the entire dynamic of businesses by helping users and businesses out of the 20th century and into the 21st century of cloud computing. Now the same medium size business will have 100 netbooks (at least a third of the cost of a desktop) that are more robust with centralized applications delivered from either their local intranet or the internet. No software programs, no hard lined network infrastructure, only two technicians that work in the IT department, no anti-virus programs and minimal hidden costs. This is 21st century technology; this is efficiency.
So why has it taken so long to get here? Networks, hardware, infrastructure and HTML (the primary code of the internet) have been slow and messy. With the evolution of the internet, these technologies have finally caught up to the speed of business. And not surprisingly, Clear Results can help you and your business utilize this technology.
